Will have to try. I wasn't actually huge on Umami, but could probably be tempted to hit it up since I think they are now built into Fred Segal SM. BTW, there is a Barney's Co-op opening at Santa Monica Place if you guys haven't heard (some other stuff like LV, Bloomingdales, and Burberry too). Hope the Bloomingdales is more South Coast and less Beverly Hills.

I'd like to see the Bloomingdales be more like the one at Century City. They've got more interesting labels there than Bev, including Paul Smith, APC, Nudie and others.

Rye wouldn't be surprised that you know where Barbarella is. But yeah, Fix is across the street and over by the gym. Don't think I'll need to drive over to Golden State for a burger anymore unless I happen to already be in the area.

This thread is now about the best burgers in LA.

I think the best I've had so far was at bld with gruyere but I implore you all to keep the suggestions coming. The best burger I ever had was actually in chicago and that was on a pretzel bun. Does that make me a chode?

I LOVE the Fix's Pesto burger.

Anyway, my friend swears by Hinano's burger (bar on Washington, right near Venice Beach). No frills, and just $6. I say my friend swears by it, because although I've had it before, I was wasted when doing so. So everything tasted good.

all threads involving anything in los angeles invariably become threads about food. it's great.

was the pretzel bun burger at Berghoff? I'll give you a pass for that.

i just usually prefer trashy burgers from places like burrito king. i think if you're going to do junk food, do it right.

It was from rockitt bar back in 05? Things may have changed since then but it was superb as were the truffle fries.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
