Thank you! You always know how to enable me in more inconsiderate purchases.;)

Actually, I wanted to take a pause, but how can you resist such lovely knits at great (50%) discounts?

Haha, you need no enabler; you can manage on your own!!!

And yes, all but the Swedes (I wonder why) are offering handsome discounts after the festive period!

Best,

Dimitris

I have started the knitwear year with this dark red roll neck by Luca Faloni:

Size S (46), 50cm pit-to-pit. The measurements on their website are accurate for both of their sweaters in my possession. Interestingly, the specs (ply, gauge, weight) they list are the same as Colhay's but the latter's roll necks feel notably heavier and a bit denser.
The first one I received had some yarn not worked in but their customer service was very quick and accommodating and organised a replacement - taking 5 days in total.

I also wanted to share a cashmere beanie made by William Lockie I picked up a few weeks ago in Berlin:

I believe it is 6-ply - feels thick and heavy. I appreciate the two rows of standard knit stitches resulting in a neat crease when folding over.

Not a bad start. Lately I rather lean towards chunky knits, but that is a nice basic, ideal for layering.

Agreed with you, very nice detail on the beanie.

Nice, I was considering getting a rollneck from Luca Faloni as well, but decided to try Kamakura's merino offering instead. Based on the measurements it should fit me better than Luca's (64cm length instead of 67cm), but hopefully I won't find it too itchy. Will share pics when it arrives.

Can anyone speak to the price differences between Scottish brands? Why is JoE priced so expensively (+~30%) compared to Lockie when the latter seems to offer a denser knit and at least the same level of quality if not greater in some cases?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
