Interesting. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen scotch grain shell before.
Yeah you don’t see that one much, I think Carmina may have one too.

what caused this ugly discoloration on the toes? just the rain or have you got some solvent / gasoline over the boots?

Interesting, you found my comments being rude, but not your own.

By the way, it's clearly not a discolouration, but the natural leather colour, whereas the darker spots are caused by wetness.

don't be personally offended @DorianGreen, my comment wasn't adressed to yours...

I mean these very remarkable light spots on the toe caps of humpty dumpties barkers. for my sense they are not nice?
(to substitute the word "ugly")
doesn't look like just wet parts...

I don't feel offended, and would't do even if the message were addressed to me, because, as I see, discussing and genuinely exchanging knowledges and opinions is the purpose of a forum.

I want to point out though that if you feel easily offended, you should apply the same measure in your comments.

Waiting for a reply from the member directly addressed, I can tell you that going back in the thread you will find pictures of the same boots in dry condition, where the leather looks perfectly normal.
