Yes, like I mentioned earlier I have a dress boot that is similar to the Black Edition of C&J Islay that is really useful in harsh, winter weather. It has a cleated outsole like Vibram. There are dressier boot options out there such as the Birmingham that you mentioned yourself and your black Chelsea perhaps as well.
These worked a treat for me in the snow. RO CJ Conistons.
Warm and dry in Cardrona NZ.

As I recall, he grew weary of the toxic tendencies of the self appointed sf fashion police. 👮

Don’t care an ounce for the sf police 😄
The world is in sneakers and they won’t get their head out from their back end debating about black, brown and pleats.

Looks awesome in burgundy.

If it is the boot in UK 7, you were faster than me. I ordered in UK 7.5 and it was to large. in UK 7 it would fit.

Cheaney has 4 nice balmoral boots in its imperial line in black, Espresso (dark brown), burgundy and interestingly in navy suede with chestnut calf.

Enjoy your sunday and best regards

Guys, regarding wearing boots with a suit, here is how to do it boldly á la Gianni Agnelli:

Compared to him, we are mere mortals! He was an Italian taycon owning Ferrari, and the less important FIAT company. So he could do it as he was excused by the style of his sports cars, not his footwear ;-).

Until I own a car company, like Porsche as a German, or at least one example of these sports car manufacturer, I stick to balmoral and chelsea boots to be worn with a suit. ;-)

Furthermore, these are bespoke boots to fit an orthodontic insole into them. He did not like the style of pediatric shoes and had these boots in suede and dark brown leather made for him.

- explained in point 5

Best regards

Thank-you. The burgundy is my only color for the balmoral imperial line. They fit well and are soft and comfortable. The calf leather is very nice and I wouldn't hesitate buying another in the line (maybe chestnut and suede) 😀

I ordered a standard UK 8 size, but had to order quick as that size frequently sells out fast!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
