The canterburys has the straps lower as well, looks better but the Burhmans are even better in this regard as the pull tabs are inside instead

this is indeed a very good solution. congrats

Thank you, Slew.
Regarding those Vass boots, do you mean the ones you're selling here? If I'm not mistaken, those are almost all speed hooks, correct? I was inquiring about the difficulty in getting into a balmoral boot without any speed hooks. I prefer the look of all blind eyelets on a balmoral boot, but I worry about the practicality of getting them on and off.

Nope. The boots I have with no speed laces are the ones below in a unique mid-brown CXL color that apparently was a one-of-a-kind batch. But thanks for bringing up the pain of the fact that the Budapester boots don't fit me 100. :^) No worries as I will prevail with that last eventually!

I never posted these on here because anything black doesn't get much love on SF, but I figured WTF? Could be a nice followup to Wes's beautiful Grensons. These are my MTO Rider Balmoral Boots I got from Ron at his trunk show at Leffot last fall hence Steven's beautiful photos. They are black shell cordovan:
