they looked like full grain calf... i'm wondering if it might be better to stick with my original choice of bridle leather from tanner krolle?

They are embossed calf. It's full grain calf, then a metal plate gets rolled over it.
The pattern you see (the little squiggles), is man-made.

You might like it, or you might not.

They aren't little squiggles. Look closely at the pieces in person. It says "Asprey" all over the leather. Yes, clearly it is embossed.

i just need a top quality leather case - and i think bridle is one of them - that looks good and ages beautifully.

full grain leather briefcases/attaches are too common on the street.

where exactly can i get bridle stuff from asprey? the london asprey boutique?
