For anyone on the fence about getting the Nexus S, get off the fence and go get one.

For such a minor update it really does a great job of making the Nexus One feel old and busted. Hopefully this will be the phone that really gets stock android out in front of people and shows them what they have been suffering through with carrier and manufacturer polluted Android devices.

No, it isnt a big deal. Feels lighter then the N1, but it has a nice curve to it and fits the hand well.

I know but I wanted to link something easy and well laid out so he'd get the idea. I did not think him stupid enough to read through the link where it says DROID several times and think "hey, this must be for my phone!" Also, this particular sentence, right after the one that says "this is for the Droid" was very helpful:
The rooting process is going to be different for every phone, so you'll have to look up specific instructions if you don't have the Droid
If he then wanted to go ahead and root his phone he could do it here: http://theunlockr.com/2010/11/15/uni...ionary-method/ Which, is in fact, a guide for the Desire HD. As stated here:
I. Before You Begin 1. Because this is a Universal Android Rooting Method it works on multiple phones. Here are the phones it is confirmed to work on:
  • HTC G2 (T-Mobile G2/HTC Vision)
  • HTC Desire Z
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC MyTouch 4G (T-Mobile MyTouch 4G)

Thank you, but give me some credit

, I wasn't going to before being very close to completely sure it was the right procedure.

Ah, I'll read through it, thank you.

Today I'm at 71% after 7 hours, which is slightly better. To be fair, I've hardly used it today, but what probably also helped, is that I killed most of the facebook (and such) updates.

I never checked facebook before so why start now.

I would have just posted something for his actual phone in the first place. That's just me though. /shrug

CDFS, try turning off your wif-fi. It constantly seeks when not connected.

Edit: within editing time: 50%

Turn the brightness of your screen down, turn off bluetooth, wifi, gps when you aren't using them. Have you downloaded an app killer? You can kill all the running apps when the phone hibernates.

Launching in Korea in a month, EU and the rest of Asia after that. Quadband GSM/EDGE but only 900/2100 HSPA. So it wont do much good in the USA. There are a few rumors of a T-Mobile USA version, but nothing credible to back them up yet AFAIK.

I suspect LG will mod the phone to work on AT&T. T-Mobile doesn't carry any of LG's high end equipment. Of course, they could always start now, but I doubt it.
