Shoebank now has the Daltons at $269. I'm glad I snagged a walnut and dark chocolate when they were reduced. Not sure why the fluctuating price.

Got some merlot mcallisters for my residency interviews with walnut strands for the preinterview dinners

So happy with these purchases

Both of these shoes are now more expensive than any other piece of clothing i own lol, gonna buy a new suit to fix that but still, it was totally worth the price

Great choice, especially the makeup styles. Hard to go wrong with such iconic designs.

For general upkeep, I just got the leather cream stuff from allen edmonds and two shoe trees. is that pretty much good enough?

i feel like the leather cream would be good enough to keep the shoes looking clean, don't want an overly impressive shine

The calender says fall but it's supposed to be 94 today. Either way the Cognac McTavish got the call today.

My assumption is that they are pricing according to demand, as they should. I bet those 2 models were FLYING off of the shelves at their reduced prices. They really are good deals even at the higher price. I'm still toying with the idea of chili McGregors.

I'm eyeing McGregor wingtips in dark brown but I can't decide if I like them from the limited amount of images available. Does anyone have any photos of this shoe? Thanks in advance.

Arriving today; will post.

In terms of design, what's the difference between the Mcgregors and the Williams.

To my untrained eye, it looks like the back of the shoes where the wings come together have a slightly difference design. It's straight on the Mcgregors and the Williams have a tapering thing going on. My shoe terms are lacking, but here is a link to the Williams that shoes the back:

I'm assuming you know they are on different lasts as well (5 last vs 2 last)

Thanks.

Yup, I knew that the shoes are on different lasts as well as a different finish (standard vs Indy). I was merely enquiring about the design as both gunboats look indentical initially.

Has anybody laid eyes on the tan leather Gobi and can comment on how it looks?

I saw all three in person and thought they all looked good...didn't get to try any on as they did not have anything close to my size. I think they are very clean looking and the toe height is nice also not super low but not work boot height either.

For the price they seem like a steal but again I could not try them on so I have no idea how they fit.

I was about to pull the trigger on Dalton but after reading some fit reviews on the interweb, I hesitated.

I chalk it down as 'not meant to be' :)

I also think I need to impose a moratorium on shoes given many of my shoes are still unworn or barely worn.
