That was not anywhere near as nerdy as I expected. It barely registers as nerdy. An excellent post though. Just not all together as nerdy as I'd been lead to believe.

This is correct. It lacked in Jean-Luc Picard quotes.

Alright. Let's make this....confrontational. Of the old crowd, who was the best soporific dresser?
And in terms of honest-to-god-sprezz: Tira or Labelking?
edmorel has said he's going to come in here and lay down some hot fire. He's doing the opposite of everyone else. He's picking five fits he likes, and then pointing out the flaws in all the other ones.

im pass on confrontation because i have no interest in it. ill keep my dislikes to myself thanks you very much.

looking forward to eds post, im sure he will flame me.

i was just re-reading the all stars thread and ill be 100% honest, many or most of the best fits of today are pretty much on par with or better than most of what is in there imho. go ahead and shoot me old guard.

also, i really really really miss @IST66 :(

Would have made it geeky, not nerdy.

Of the old guard, my favorite dresser was either Mao or
foo.gif
. If I saw more CM fits from gdl, I suspect he'd be up there with the other two.

EDIT: And @NOBD is eternal. Especially now that's he's made a year free.

i have a lot faves. could not make a list of less than 6 - 8 posters, maybe 10, without excluding someone.

Do you consider Phat Guido's suit combos soporific? Because if you do, I think I have to give the nod to him over our dear Pingson. The real difference I see between old guard and new is that not many of us are having clothes made for us, MTM or bespoke. As much as the current best are able to put together combos to equal past glories, superior fit gives the edge to the past. As an example, take Stitchy. His combinating hasn't radically changed in the past six months, but the fit of his suits has, and it's leagues ahead of where he was.

If someone were willing to put in the effort, a series of polls pitting old vs. new could be informative. Sort of like the StyleForum Robot's polls, but not utterly random. :)

i want to agree with you, but again, looking at that all star thread, the fit of the clothing was pretty much similar to what you see here now in the better fits. save vox, there are the same nits you could make on the fit in most of those fits there too imho.

would never work simply because of people bias based on what ever guard they already think is best.

I was thinking about that, Tira, and I think he has you beat on sheer over-the-top range, but fit-vs-fit, you would take a few rounds.
