You won’t avoid all fees, but there is a difference between UPS Ground charging a percentage of the declared value, with no upper limit, and a flat fee tacked on to an express service. I am personally not going to Pearson to save $20.- Wrenkin

If the brokerage fees are that high it's probably coming by UPS Ground ("Standard"). It's almost always worth it to select a non-ground ("Express") option. Even if it costs a few dollars more up front, the fees are lower. You were probably using Express in the past. You have to watch out...- Wrenkin

My most recent pair is a slightly upgraded model with a vibram sole. They are wearing better than the previous pair but I am not convinced about the grip on ice. They have better traction then the regular model on wet pavement as long as it’s above freezing.- Wrenkin

Realistically, 90% of the time Blundstones with a medium wool sock are the best option. When there is a significant snowfall, which isn't that often, then you need Sorels. That's a real advantage of shopping for Church's, since they're carried so widely, and in particular at more fashion-focused retailers that do heavy seasonal discounting. It only works if the items are made and shipped from a region covered by that specific treaty. If you buy something that is made in the UK, but it ships from the US, you pay duties, and vice versa. If you buy something made in Portugal and it ships from Germany that should work, because they are...- Wrenkin

I'm thinking of getting a pair of Avoriaz. For reference, I have wider feet, and I've found some models fit well in 7/41, including the Michael, Pacific, Avignon and a United Arrows collab bit loafer. But the Prevert and Adonis are a bit too narrow. Where would the Avoriaz fit on that spectrum...- Wrenkin

If it's actually 1" internally, you can buy a cheap strap from this ebay seller. Look for "Belt Strap For Pressure Buckle". You can also sometimes buy 1" straps from Brooks Brothers, since they sell similar buckles.- Wrenkin
