    Early Christmas give away!!

Well long story short I was working as a buyer for awhile. Then left the clothing industry (only to return) for teaching in Russia. While I was there I got in lifting and power lifting. Bulked up from 140 to about 195 and well I don't think I'm going back. So I thought this would be the...

    Early Christmas give away!!

Back in 2004 I was fortunate enough to receive a gift from a very generous member here on styleforum of clothing he no longer wanted. It was just as I had begun to get into men's clothing. 7 years later I have still not forgotten the generosity of this member and I would like to extend his...

Buying stuff is fun! At least you have them when you need them. But I know what you mean, got a little carried away and just bought 100+lbs of chains. The wife is not happy about it but you can't return cut chains! Also how is Smolov working for you (if you posted before I'm to lazy to...

    ill dressed department store emplyees

Honestly unless you really want to go the retail way as in becoming a buyer, manager, etc. retail isn't going to open a whole lot of doors for you. At least I haven't found it to. I like my job, but it is not want I want to do for the rest of my life. When I was younger and first...

    ill dressed department store emplyees

I really think Mcbrown hit the nail on the head. I've worked in and out of sales for the last 10 years of my life, at BB, Banana Republic, at an upscale mens clothing store, cars, and now at a large higher level department store. 99% of the customers dont' care if the suit is canvased or not...

Tell me about it. I left it for 10 minutes and when I came back to that section it was gone. It's a custom belt so I know one day I will see some dude wearing it. Not to many purple and orange (school colors) belts out there.

What have you done to break it in? Best thing is to wear it but they are hard when you first get them. I would fold it in half and step on it. Then keep doing this at different parts. Also things like baby oil's help soften the leather but can be messy. I just bought a new belt to but...

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Cole It is hard for me to see your photos but what I am seeing is this. The suit isn't a bad fit for you. Varvatos does run trimmer especially through the arms. I would say shorten sleeves, pinch in waist. also it looks baggy in the seat but hard to tell. From what I can see in the photo...

    Why are tie blades triangular?

Dolce Punta makes a round bottom tie which they charge more for at cost. My guess would be ease to make. Round is much more difficult than a triangular bottom. Much like making a pentagon bottom would be pretty difficult but I would love to see it.

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

My thoughts Blake. Your right shoulder is low and needs to be padded. Shorten sleeves, Also looks like the collar needs to be lowered and the waist and seat needs to be let out. You may also need to have a pinch taken in across the back as it looks like a little bit of extra fabric...

    Random health and exercise thoughts

Jarude has great advice toasty. Tracking calories is key. I used fitday for most of my calorie tracking. You will get to a point where you don't have to but it's good to know what your eating and how much your eating. I always see guys say they eat a ton of food. I was like them when I...

    Random health and exercise thoughts

I agree with you there. I think recomp would be good for almost anyone who has some experience. It was a bit of a roller coaster when I did it but I found it much easier mentally for me to recomp than to cut simply because I felt like I was losing so much muscle cutting. As far as...

    Random health and exercise thoughts

I agree with the second part of this. Supplements don't do much if anything (I am very anti supplements for the most part). In my opinion they add a psychological edge for some people but little else. Maybe some energy from all the 1,3 dymeth and caffeine. However recomping is more than...

Adding weight when you get to a certain point is fine if you want to push yourself. However don't make the mistake of sacrificing form. I can't tell you how hard I laugh at the guys in my gym who pretend to get stronger by adding more weight when the really shouldn't. Example. Guys doing...
