Kitchen Knives
The coolest patina in my opinion comes from cutting beef. It leaves this patina that turns electric blue when it hits sunlight. To help it set in, I bought a really cheap cut of beef, and sliced it up nice and thin. The knife would look amazing in mgm's kitchen.- KJT

I go Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits a lot b/c it's closest liquor store to my house. Nice bourbon selection that always seems to be growing. Really like the guys who work there. Have you tried the Magruder's next door? They actually have a good selection too, and run frequent sales.- KJT

What did you eat last night for dinner?
It's interesting to me that you say that the dishes from Tru are awkward to eat , when the Japanese dishes, especially the baby squid one, look extremely awkward to eat to me as well. Did you eat that meal with chopsticks or fork and knife?- KJT

Random Food Questions Thread
Yeah, these would work. It's essentially 3/4's of the DIY sous vide set up, but it doesn't have it's own heating element. These are basic PID controllers that actually have a lot of applications, other than sous vide. Some DIY's build the PID controller so it's independent of the heating...- KJT

Raw Ingredient and Mise en Place Appreciation thread.
Got some that was this size last night. 2 a person was plenty. It was nice to eat asparagus with some body after eating overcooked green mush asparagus all weekend at my parents' and in-laws'. Do people actually like horribly overcooked asparagus?- KJT
