What does men prevent of buying and wearing capes today ?

Do they make cargo capes, like, with lots of pockets and stuff? Here are the things I would like to be able to fit in my cape: flashlight bowie knife length of rope a small dog some loose change a meatball sub a cauldron a boat anchor increasingly smaller capes, like...

When I have to get gold off of guitar parts (which are actually nickel-plated brass with a gold coating) I use Brasso and a rag. Comes right off. NevrDull, which you can get at SuperCheap Auto, is even easier but it's more expensive.

I love the way the fog feels under my cape.

I love Ralph Lauren polos - is there a plain alternative?

I forgot to say - Sunspel are having a sale. There's not a lot left in the popular sizes though.

Do you not find the collar a bit ugly on those?

Proper Cloth : GQ's "Favorite Online Custom Shirtmaker"

They need better, less expensive staples. They don't even have a light blue broadcloth, for example. And there's no way I'm paying $150 for oxford cloth, I don't care who made it.

    Chinese Top End Shoes?

You're not up to the standard of the AV Club's Elegant Victorian Lady yet, but you might get there.

    Chinese Top End Shoes?

There's nothing borderline about that. I like this. SF needs more gimmick posters.

Incotex vs Howard Yount vs Epaulet

The only thing stopping me from buying Epaulet pants is the 12.5" rise. As a shorter guy (5'8"), it's a bit much. I would like to see what they look like on a model who isn't over six feet tall.

    Lightweight Chinos

Brooks Brothers make a cotton-linen chino and they're my go-to pants right now. Otherwise, you could go for a more open weave - I think Bills Khakis have a poplin chino, but yeah, creasing is a problem.

Does ironing damp clothing carry risk of shrinkage?

Shrinkage is usually caused by prolonged agitation. Heat will speed the process. As long as you aren't putting your shirts in the dryer they probably won't shrink. You also might want to wash them on the gentle cycle.

    Casual Work Shoes...Any ideas?

I like desert boots too. I have some brown Loake Saharas, which are quite cheap and have held up really well. But they run big, so you need to go down a whole size.

What (colour) shoes to wear with these trousers? (pic)

IMO shiny brown or burgundy calf would be too rich for very light gray. But the flatness of suede takes the edge off. Remember this pic? He's wearing about the same shade as the OP's pants with black shoes and it looks good.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
