What are you doing with all your unused work clothes?

As I'm now working from home permanently, I've given a lot of my work clothes to charity or recycled. Eg my tailored suits, bespoke suit shoes etc. Anyone else in the same boat?

Are you planning on working from home permanently and never going out of your home?

I donate unused/unworn clothes/shoes/sneakers to a NYC organization...The Bowery Mission.

Nope I'm fully remote now luckily.

you’re not holding on to anything tailored for occasions/events that call for it?

Remote is not an option for me, so I’m keeping everything. Of course, I don’t really wear tailored clothing at work.

Good point. For occasions that require black tie or weddings I usually hire a tux or morning suit.

What about weddings/parties/etc? I would keep some "formal" stuff.

I guess donation makes sense. I know in Chicago we have organizations that accept donations of business formal clothing that they then provide for those who cannot afford such clothing for the purpose of interviews or if they’ve landed a job that requires such clothing.

Last weekend my wife and I spent the day in the city capping it off with dinner. The weather was agreeable so I wore a blue sport coat with a pocket square, ivory chinos and bit loafers with a sock liner.

My wife was on a mission; find a very specific style skirt. We hit RL, Neiman’s and Saks. At each place, I was mistaken for a sales associate. Before that, I grabbed a cappuccino from the coffee bar and Nordstrom and the kid behind the counter asked for my employee number.
