I've been working on decluttering my house for the past couple years and I saved my wardrobe for last and have been working on it for the past couple months. I have a closet full of really nice clothes including probably 100 dress shirts. While they are all objectively nice, I find myself gravitating towards the same 10-15 shirts and will occasionally wear some of the other ones for the sake of trying to get some use out of them. A lot of them have never even been worn and as my style has evolved I also probably won't wear them much either. I also have a lot of redundant shirts with similar styles that I could probably consolidate so I have less overall shirts but each one is more unique.
Same goes for pants, suits, shoes, etc. but I seem to be the worst offender when it comes to shirts.
So that got me thinking, why not just get rid of everything except the items that I always look forward to wearing? My closet will be way tidier and I'll always look forward to wearing everything in my closet. And somebody else can enjoy the stuff that I would donate or sell. Since I go to meetings or office only about twice a week anyway I don't really need as much stuff.
Thoughts?
