I just received my first pair of shoes from Oct Tenth. It’s their split toe derby (OT01) in J&FJ Russian Calf. I’m quite happy with the result.

I might try the same style and leather but in black, I'm quite tempted by black russian calf ;)

The black and in that cross grain leather pattern would elevate darn near any style of shoe/boot. It's fantastic.
Black Russian calf is still amazing but you really miss out on the depth of color in the reddish brown version Bakers does.
He already covered that one in the other pair he has. The maker probably darkened it a touch.

Just ordered a pair of OT01 in J&FJ Black Russian calf as they were able to source some.
Now I need boots in this leather 😂
Bought a pair of cap toe boots in the Russian grain from Carmina a few years ago and do not regret it at all. Wouldn't pay their current price though (they're almost $500 USD more expensive now).

At some point I want a pair of loafers or single monks on it.
