How many meters did you swim today?

My Dad put in two 20m lap lanes in a new pool he built this year. It's sort of lame because at one time this would have been a warm-up, but I was pretty proud of myself for logging 1km yesterday. I used to be a competitive swimmer back in HS, so it's not that huge an accomplishment, but I haven't swum for fitness in years and years, and today I am pretty much a big *****. I wasn't that winded from it, though my triceps were killing me and I had to keep resting them. They are feeling it today. I think I could get back into this a little if I just conditioned some of my muscles back for swimming again.

Just logged 1200 in the hotel pool in Shanghai. Not sure if it was a yards or meters pool, I'm guessing meters since I'm not in the US.

Aaaaand 1600 today. Stretching it out. Not sure how long I can keep doing this especially when I get back home and can only swim 1x / week but for now it feels pretty good. Actually felt like I was pretty quick in the water today. Admittedly I have to break it into 50s at the end...

Still waiting for the Tomtom sports watch to be released in NL, to measure my distance... (Too lazy to count.) The numbers won't be high, but I'd like to know what I'm doing in the water twice a week. :)

Again new goggles... I didn't like the colour of the last ones (grey/smoke - more appropriate for outside), so I returned them. Got these instead, and they were fine:

Guys - sorry for piggybacking on this thread but need help. I'm a non-competitive swimmer and have always worn shorts. Last few times however, on the beach, the sand has gotten in and caused some abrasion to my organ. Are jammers more protective and keep all the sand out?

Thx

3600 today, 3500 yesterday. Yesterday at the Ashland U pool, in Ashland, OH. Damned fine pool.

3400. 2000 of various warm-ups and drills, allx200 except for pull, which was 400 breathing every 5th. Then 12x100 on 1:50, followed by 200 warm down.

3300 yards for me this evening. Not long by my standards over the years, but this was my longest swim since Challenge Penticton (iron distance triathlon) last August.
