Picked up another pair today and met Dean at the NYC trunk show.
This was a stock shoe and at a great price. Also, already dropped off to the cobbler for Flush metal toe taps so it’s ready for use in summer.

Incoming this week! Voak Holdens on the round deco last (thanks @jhcam8 for the inspiration!) and round deco Savoys with an Edwardian grey (non-deco equivalent of deco black) patina. Can't wait to pick them up! :D
Cheers, mate - it's you who inspire us mere mortals!

GGs in the last 2 days:
- winterised Rothschild in hatch grain

View attachment 956847

Lovely proportions. I'd get the same if I fit G&G's lasts better. As it is, I'll probably have to do an EG 82 Malvern or Falkirk-- once I decide whether to get mahogany or walnut country calf.

I do wish that EG had the same grained leather, though. Utah has its charms, but I like the G&G's grain better.

Thanks v much. Both views can’t be more contrasting. I agree it isn’t a shoe for everyone; certainly more country than dressy. But I find it attractive.

@Concordia I fit GG and EG just about as well; I use F width for GG. I prefer utah to GG hatchgrain (which I believe is from Horween). While the print/colour combi of GG hatch has more depth, lighter colours like this tan pair tends to come off quite easily. It’s a common problem, especially for StC. I don’t have this issue with utah.
