Vintage Watch Thread (Pre-1990's watches only)

Added a new vintage to the collection recently. Not much of a fan of contemporary Girard Perregaux, as it seems to be only the Laureato and nothing more, except for their weird six-figure price tag watches with turning planets on them and whatnot. But the pre-1980s stuff is pretty cool, classy...

Bracelets For Men - How To Do It Properly.

I wear my pocket watch chains (when not wearing a pocket watch) as a bracelet. Rose gold and yellow gold. Looks nice, imo, is utilitarian + got the mop pen knife on there that’s sharp af in case I gotta cut a fool.

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

Attended my 9-yr-old’s “Small-Tall Ball”—and was surprised to find that I was among five or six other dudes in black tie. Good show.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

The old lady and I took advantage of digital babysitters so that we could nab a couple drinks and apps tonight, then we had one from among our offspring take our digital image here. She’s on tip toes b/c she’d already removed her shoes (which were classy btw) and she said she wanted to appear as...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

To be honest, I'm not impressed with their hinges. Maui Jim's spring hinges are way better.

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

I love this take on what I might call a kind of "smart sporty casual.” Because I live in the US South, and because my job is as a professor, I'm off during summer and not really wearing classic menswear unless I make an excuse to do so. Lately, my own versions of this have taken cues from...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Anytime a gentleman wears a hat with style he is doing something most men these days have no knowledge of, and so he will always be a cut above. Nice work.

Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

I had the worst thrifting experience of my life today @goodwill: found a solitary Florsheim Royal Imperial 97626 in my size (10.5-11, depending) sitting next to an Allen Edmonds brogued captoe, as if it was it’s partner (but the AE was a size 12). No partner for the Florsheim to be found 😂...

I don't know what's going on with the shoe thing, but what I'm really curious about, is why @1st Step capitalizes every word in his posts. This is honest curiosity; I would never say he shouldn't do this if he wants to. I just want to know what effect he's going for by utilizing it.

I haven't been on here in a long time, but it's fun coming into a fight. Hang on while I finish smoking this bowl, then let the arrows fly if you all will.
