While I’ve had plenty of western hats over the years I’ve never branched out. Decided to try and give one a shot and picked up a straw hat to see what I thought. First wear.

Straws are a thing of beauty. I would prefer a classic fedora style with a slightly larger brim and a nice centre topfold. Looks more elegant to me. Your variety reminds me a bit of Venetian boat rowers.

What would you do, sartorially speaking, with 5 days in Naples and $2,500 to spend?

I'm thinking a pair of shoes from Meccariello would be a good start.

I just came back from Napoli. I was there for a lot more than 5 days, but I was able to get a lovely bespoke double-breasted suit made by Sartoria Manna within your budget (assuming you mean $2500 USD).

Best info I have is that your budget would also cover a bespoke suit from Gennaro Paone. And that your budget would be very close to the price for a bespoke suit from Sartoria Pirozzi too. (Likely assuming for both of these that you don't expect some top-tier, higher-priced fabric.)

I don't think your budget precludes a bespoke suit/jacket...but your timing would not allow for a full bespoke process.

Anytime a gentleman wears a hat with style he is doing something most men these days have no knowledge of, and so he will always be a cut above. Nice work.

Yeah it’s definitely a little different but I sort of liked the “not a standard montecristi” aspect of it. I guess it’s called a “Milan” weave.
