I have two pair of JMM frames. I found a local boutique, who gives free prescription lenses with each pair you buy. So that helped soften the sticker shock for me. I previously wore Moscot (Nebb and Lemtosh), along with a few mass produced brands here and there. I get compliments on both JMM frames (Enzo and Jeff) quite often. IMO the quality justifies the price. They not only feel significantly more substantial, but after a couple years of wear on the Enzo, it still looks new with a quick polish. I also really like the standard JMM prescription lenses. They don’t seem to smudge easily, they are scratch resistant (I think), and they have wonderful clarity, even after a couple years.
I have two complaints about JMM. First, because of the thickness of the frames, you have to use a JMM retailer for prescription lenses. Lucky for me, mine provides these at no charge. Second, they fit a little tight. So if you have a big head like me, you’re gonna get tension headaches from the constant pressure. I think I can have them adjusted, but I don’t live by the boutique anymore, and I don’t trust a local optometry shop. So, I drink a ton of water and pop a Tylenol here and there.
Overall, I love my JMM frames. I think they are worth the price.
