<pines for the day wherein he can afford to cut up an Attolini, Brioni, Oxxford, and Kiton in an educational fora exercise>

Brioni is overpriced Canali. Those shoulders ruin everything. I wasted an hour in Monte Carlo trying that trash on. All I could think walking out the door was, why the padding? Why, why, why? Like walking around with a couple diapers on your shoulders.

Nobody tear up a wearable Brioni, I already have one I cut open a couple of years ago. You guys had me digging through my garage for those coats today, it was like 115 degrees in there

Already dissected I have an older (probably 80's) Brioni, a fairly vintage Oxxford, and an Anderson & Sheppard. Interestingly the Brioni, a double breasted jacket, has the tips of the lapels padded by hand. I had a D'Avenza/Bijan and a Canali too, I don't know what happened to those. But the chest canvas and lapels on both were machine sewn. I will try to post pics of the already dissected coats by the end of the weekend.

I also found other coats that are damaged and ready for the knife, - Zegna, Chester Barrie, Samuelsohn, and Hickey Freeman "Bespoke". It will probably be a while before I can hack those open properly.

As for Borrelli, I have a French faced jacket hanging right next to me. The canvas and lapels are macine made just like the Kiton. The collar is hand attached, and I think the sleeves as well, though I can't say for certain without ruining the jacket, which is not going to happen.

Harris,

Can you post pics of the Brioni? Thanks. I'd like to see the Zegna and Samuelsohn as well.

Don't compare Brioni suits with Canali suits. I own several suits from both makers and I prefer Brioni suits over Canali suits. However Canali suits with model No. that start with 8 have drop of 8 and have softer padding. However, my favorite suit maker is Isaia.

johnapril- Brioni ain't no Canali, slick. That's kinda like the commercials that compare subarus to BMWs. The cloth, lapels, buttonholes, and overall cut on a Brioni are all a good step above-- albeit a little overpriced, I admit. And not all Brionis have heavily padded shoulders, there are several models they make with more natural cuts.

I have one to sacrafice but I haven't got down to it yet, sorry. Maybe within the next couple of days. I would also very much be interested in Attolini.
