Hello,

I am attending a wedding and wearing a morning suit for it, does anybody know whether there is any protocol regarding the buttons on the waistcoat and morning coat?

Thinking about dark motherpearl buttons on a dove gray waistcoat but that may be to shiny? Maybe better to have fabric-coated buttons matching the vest instead?

Same for the central button on the coat itself, debating between matching or black horn.

Any advice will be more than welcome. (Any links for evidence as well).

Many thanks.

I have a fabric-coated button on my morning coat. I am not sure about the waistcoat, I'll try to think of checking it tonight.

My DB dove grey vest has smoked MOP buttons. I think that's fine. I have seen some with light MOP buttons as well. Fabric buttons are just so....dull.

Fabric-coated also.

I do not find them dull at all.

Smoked MoP is slick, in a good way.

OP-

Are you expected to own your own morning suit?
