Interesting observations @Watty . Don’t buy fakes myself (not one who cares if someone else does personally) but interesting to hear the details of different items and what they do well.

on another note, painted some Brigadiers I got a few months back. Been meaning to post in here. Never been a fan of light brown boots but thought I’d give this a go as were going for good price on Mercari. In the end didn’t like the colour so painted them a dark brown.

(Didn’t really plan to paint the denim Heel but too much paint ran on it I had to just make it black haha)

I used Fiebings Dark Brown Leather Dye.

Just checking as this is my first pair of Vis Horsehide boots, but wore my Brigs for the first time today and there is a slight white bloom where the crease of the toe is. I'm taking it that this is to do with the Veg tanning and will buff out. I have a pair of Alden shell Cordovan but not encountered this before. Must say the Brigs are comfortable and amazing how thin the Horsehide is compared to calf leather but it feels much stronger, hard to describe and need to be handled to understand. I think because the boots are unlined its more noticeable but looking forward to how these will age.

SSENSE reached back to me claiming that the shirt is authentic. And there is no way it could have been replaced, as they carefully surveillance all merchandise, yadi yaddi yadddda. They eventually, acquiesced to my claims and allowed me to return for a refund. Cest la vie.
