What actual physical stores carry Vis in london? I don't remember seeing it in End

None these days I don’t think. END used to have a small selection in store but not seen any in there for a few years.

Brown’s may have some in store but not been there for years.

Only realised fairly recently after seeing Flannel’s Oxford on the Visvim stockists list that my local Flannels (only carry footwear I think) has some Visvim. Never anything particular exciting though

I have to say London sounds similarly underwhelming to NYC. I understand Vis isn't really the most popular brand and they aren't aiming to be, but I feel like most ppl I tell about what i'm wearing that are moderately interested in fashion become really interested in the brand. Being able to see it in person is such a huge part of the experience when it could otherwise look like something from a vintage store visually. The main reason I didn't explore the brand for several years is because I couldn't figure out much about it online and grew up in a rural area. Way less accessible.

All this to say, I wish NYC and London both got a bit more love given how huge they are and how big the fashion communities are there.

But to be fair what I also learned is most ppl don't care abt this story telling or the passion behind keeping small factories in business etc. (what we all love Vis for). They just want visually appealing stuff or your classic LVMH/Kering products to show off.

So bummed I hesitated on the new ICT Lumber. If anyone has Size 3 in Grey PM
Is there something special about this releases? I remember seeing in store a few weeks ago and thinking it reminded me of a pretty plain shirt. I still regret missing out on the N.D. version.

I just enjoy the color combo a lot that's all. I'm a sucker for the damage processed stuff

for sure here in UK right now if it ain’t heavy branded and status piece it doesn’t get much love by a lot of people into fashion (I’m mostly talking streetwear). Like usually if someone asks about something I’m wearing and it’s someone into streetwear say, they know what Visvim is but reply lot of time is ‘I love visvim but too expensive’. Which I fully understand but the same people will also pay £500 resale for some Nike’s or £1,000 + for some LV.

Visvim here in UK also doesn’t seem to have captured the younger generation so it’s a bit dead outside of people 30+ . Lot of my generation were streetwear guys in 2000s (supreme, raw denim etc haha). Got into FBTs and fell in love with Visvim. While I get impression in LA and of course Asia they still attract new younger consumers

Visvim definitely skews older in JP as well. I'd say the average age of consumers I see in the store is 30+ and may skew a little younger if you're looking at Chinese consumers. At the trunk shows I rarely see anyone who looks "young".

In general, outside of a few hype pieces, I think that the clothes tend to be designed for older folks these days. I feel like it's sorta like Cucinelli in that the people that are in the "know" are hyper fans but to everyone else its confusing why anyone would pay the prices for luxury JCrew.

100% agree w/ the sneaker resale sentiments. I sold a couple pairs of "hype" kicks this summer to buy more vis which I see as infinitely more worth it. Living in NYC this summer and meeting other kids my age working internships & fashion inclined (Early 20s) it blew my mind how little they cared abt or thought about the stuff that interests me so much, but that's what I get for spending my free time in internet forums hahaha. More than anything I get driven crazy by people who buy Acne and other similar brands and try and say "it's insanely high quality" without any sort of explanation or justification. I think it adds to the misinformation that younger generations are receiving about fashion, but it's all just consumption one way or another.

That's part of the reason that I started my YouTube channel and I know also why @shopsecondhandvisvim does his.

Hostem have some old pieces. But maybe all the UK Vis heads open a store where people can look at and feel our Visvim pieces. Like a gateway drug of sorts. Open their minds and wallets and we all get a cut from Hiroki.

Hostem are about to start restocking but only the uber niche pieces. None of the main stuff so prepare yourself for some eye watering mark ups. They have lots of old pieces in storage too... i can offering "reasonable" prices for it but they haven't taken the bait yet.

I’m not great at knowing the different versions but in particular this version with the chunky vibram sole

My fav is the black suede from AW12 with the Norwegian welt (is it actually a Norwegian welt or does it just look like it?). If anyone wants to part ways with a size 8 lmk

Unrelated rant, but people posting their 5 year old worn shite on Grailed for way over retail need to come back to reality. It's not 2021 anymore and as much as we might like to think otherwise these are used clothes not investment art.

With the exception of current season hype items or very special grails I just don't see 90% of these ever selling for OVER what they cost originally.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
