Possibly, but my money would be on Brown of Canada at the old Perth Shoe Company factory in Perth Ontario. Sisman made a lot of steel toe shoes as well, but I don't think they are the culprit in this case

I will always defer to you

I have owned all 4 of these, so I will toss in a few practical thoughts other than fitment which others have mentioned. The Florsheim and Hanover pairs are obviously older and now and one needs to watch out for shell that has dried out and is now weak. As a EEE wearer, I found it difficult to locate wider shoes in shell from Florsheim and Hanover, but not impossible. I also noticed the Leeds gives the appearance they may be discontinued. The AE website only shows a few pairs in select widths in size 5 and 16. Gives one the feeling they are not taking orders for the other sizes to remove them from their line. Fortunately, they made the Leeds forever and this makes finding a pair on Ebay easier. The Alden is still made and as a stock shoe it is usually available new within a few months and some dealers may even have some pairs in stock. But Alden made far fewer pairs than AE and they may be harder to find on the used market. If I had to keep just one, it would be the Florsheim as it took me 7 years to find.

Wonderful input, thank you. Do you find that vintage Florsheims and Hanover are sized similarly to modern shoes?
For me they fit the same.

Spoke to some high school students so wore my vintage Canadian made Ritchie shoes.

The snow is arriving today so I'll be in boots for a while.

Spent all day cooking and all night co-hosting a 40+ person friendsgiving, all wearing these 93605s. Now, taking a breather, off my feet for the first time in hours.

Been a good day.

Very stylish. Maker and Last?

They are Florsheim Imperials, style 93602. Not sure the last had a name. These were originally brown and stripped them to change the color to approximate the Golden Harvest model.

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
