Gentlemen,

I recently picked these up off of a great gentleman who was looking to downsize some. These have long been my dream Vibergs, so I am super happy to have the opportunity to wear and take care of them!

Nice, I just recently picked up a new pair of 1035 bourbons from the 2020 run. They really need to do more 1035 cordovan releases.

Does anyone have comments on Col 8 Workshoe Butt? Sounds like an unfinished horsebutt that has an almost suede/roughout appearance? Any real life photographs showing color or patina - is it really purple or mostly brown? I assume it creases well but how does it do with water spots?

Is the heel counter curve (heel pocket) on 2040 similar to 2030 or 1035 or more straight? The pictures aren't real obvious, but I really like the deep curve on other Vibergs I've tried. Very comfortable.

2040 has a narrower heel than 1035 and 2030 (at least original 2030), but it’s still a nice curve. Example:

The heel curve looks pretty weak on fully lined boots like those col 8 (regardless of last), but I think it should still feel the same on foot.

Thanks for the info and the pic - the .com images definitely seemed weak, but may not actually represent real life.

Hoping someone might have some experience with that Col 8 work horsebutt. I am debating trying it out and if I don't like it, exchange for the 1035 in Kudu that I know and love. Agree, seems like roughout...but honestly have no idea.

I was curious, because I find their leather laces are the best I've owned. I like that waxy feel to them. Thank you.

Personally I prefer the Viberg leather laces over the Guarded Goods or Truman. The Viberg laces are a little thicker and maintain that waxy feel. I can certainly live with the Guarded Goods leather laces until I replace them with Viberg laces.

Brand new to me the Maryam Cuoio Horsebutt in the 1035 last. They fit really well. Slightly better than my 310s.
