Any interest for Viberg to bring back their Jodhpur boot? There is very little information on it, so if you know anything, including the last and fit and features, please share!

I more or less concluded I cannot wear their chelseas, or probably chelseas from most makers (if you are curious, I have a protruding navicular bone, which apparently only 10-20% of people have, which is right on the U seam of most chelseas). Nevertheless I pine for an all-weather boot that is easy on and off

And if you have a pair to sell in 7-7.5 please let me know as well!

Bruhs, I need your help asap.

I have a mid-level job interview with a marketing department this coming Tuesday morning. I wanna wear my natural CXL Derbies but there are some light, very superficial scrapes on the leather. Kind of like you would get dragging a fingernail across the surface. How can I remove these or polish them away? I don't want to affect the color of the natural leather, though.

Small amount of neutral polish and brush the heck out of them.

Agreed with @ajd578. More specifically, maybe start by wiping with a damp cloth to clean them, and then, as recommended earlier, brush the heck out of them before applying anything. Chromexcel has a lot of fats and wax within that surfaces with a lot of brushing.

After that, if necessary, go with the neutral polish, but, again, start with very small amounts, and use as little as needed to get the job done to your satisfaction.

Good luck on your interview!

I've seen references to a distinction between "old" and "new" 2030 lasts. Besides SPI, what's the difference? I have a 2018 pair of 2030 service boots, and in looking at a new boondocker on the 2030, I am curious whether I should keep the same sizing. Thanks!

TL;DR - keep the same sizing in both versions.

Pattern and manufacturing changes to the 2030 last have resulted a noticeably different silhouette, which is what most people refer to when making a distinction between “old” and “new” 2030. In addition to aesthetics (and denser SPI), the new pattern fits noticeably differently, with less heel cup and more instep space than the older pattern.

Although these pattern changes occurred over time, they became most pronounced from around mid-2020 onwards, resulting in a “new” 2030 pattern from the 2012-2019 era of the last…

While the aesthetics of the pattern have changed, there is actually more room in the new version and the consensus is it fits a wider variety of feet better than the older pattern (supposedly one of the reasons for modifying the last).

Sizing guidance remains the same for both versions though (.5 down from Brannock for optimal ball placement), and you should take the same size in the “new” 2030 as the “old” 2030 (i.e., no change)…

For comparison, “old” (top / first pic) and “new” (bottom / second pic) 2030 silhouettes…

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
