What colour and style of trouser to wear with quite sleek, dark grey leather lace-ups?

Tom.

Good question. I have a pair of grey shoes and unfortunately have worn them maybe three times in two years. Both times was with a pair of black corduroy jeans and a white shirt.

Depends on the shade of grey.

I tend to wear my pewter museum shoes with navy suits for a subtle contrast, or light/mid grey suits for a sleeker look. If you want a punchier/higher contrast look, pair them with dark brown trousers.

If your shoes are a lighter grey, the question becomes harder.

Not a great quality photo because I took it on my phone, I don't yet own these shoes, not sure if I will get them but they are very nice in real.

^ Not a last shape I'd go for myself, but colour-wise, my above thoughts still stand.

EDIT - that reply was originally directed to tommib... but you know, it actually works better with grim's pic.

Dark brown or cordovan are safe.

Those are clearly less than safe
