It's all fun and games until the Bishop finds out...and then you have to invite him too.

I was at the Seal Beach Main Street Christmas parade.
The Seal Beach Republicans, or something similar, was marching in the parade.
There was a big fat blonde in the retinue who walked right in front of us yelling to the crowd "let's go Brandon" in that high pitched nasally Karen hog call kind of voice.
I yelled something of my own back her way,

Growing up Episcopalian I always had the attitude "Lead me not into temptation. It's just a waste of time as I already know a shortcut".

Then there is the Oscar Wilde line: I can resist anything except temptation.

A Methodist is just a Baptist with a job.
A Presbyterian is just a Methodist with a house.
An Episcopalian is just a Presbyterian with a stock portfolio.

Hah, I was there. Also nice that they rolled out the totally necessary SBPD tactical war vehicles.
At least a few folks managed to adhere to the “Thank you Rich Harbour” theme. (For those not from the area, RH was a widely beloved local surfboard maker and surf shop owner who passed away this year. And Seal Beach aka “Mayberry By The Sea” is one of the few Southern California Beach communities that has managed to hold onto an old school, locally-owned independent business, small town beachy vibe (due in parts to being a pain ********** to get to from anywhere real, a total lack of decent waves on a south-facing beach, and exclusionary zoning) that also happens to be in Orange County and next to a naval facility and thus has a sizable contingent of deplorables.)

Female labor participation is also down a ton. People are realizing daycare is expensive and not worth working 40 hrs a week to have $50 after daycare costs.

Actually there are a ton of new type jobs adding up as well like delivery for all sorts of things where people interactions are less than they once were.

It's not just expensive, it's in short supply, particularly for the women (and it's almost exclusively women) who do childcare themselves. This country's bullheadedness about social services and collective responsibility is so self-defeating.

Nice! Man it would have been fun to say hi.
Our company, ( my friend is the owner ) owns and is renovating The Bay Theater. He put that tribute to Rich on the marquee.
And yeah, I was doing a big eye-roll at the tank.
