This triangle of shirt doesn’t normally show on suit jackets but it’s showing here. Any thoughts?

Firstly, you've got your arm up taking a photo. Does it do it when you are standing normally?

If no, there is your answer.

If yes:

The waist of the jacket looks quite "nipped in". Have had it tailored in, and have you put on any weight, or changed shape? There are creases across the pockets, which may indicate that it's a bit snug somewhere - maybe around your seat?

A test that my tailor uses is to unbutton the jacket, to see how much it is necessary to pull the front of the jacket across again to button it.

In conclusion. If it was okay previously and isn't now, you've changed shape (your jacket hasn't). If there is sufficient room in the body, you could move the button over slightly which will close the gap (5-minute DIY). If there isn't, you'll need to go see a tailor, and have it eased slightly.

Edited for more full comment.

The jacket looks notably short and the trousers don't look high waisted enough. A cummerbund might help a bit.

It hasn’t been taken in, and, yes, it does do that when standing normally.

Do you think? Irritating because it’s made to measure, and I had come in to have the measurements taken. The trousers sit 3 finger widths below my belly button.

It'd be easier to say if you had a full body front shot taken from mid waist position. My trousers sit at or slightly above the belly button, but that is an unreliable reference, because of individual anthropometry.

A proper black tie outfit requires a waist covering—cummerbund or vest.

Thank you. I will this evening or tomorrow when I have the time. Here’s a snip of another I snapped earlier. The cummerbund has to ride higher to cover the bottom button. Raising the trousers leads to discomfort in the nether regions.

From my experience helping my brother with his wedding attire, achieving that seamless, polished appearance can be a bit of a challenge. It might be worth checking the fit of the jacket – sometimes a slight adjustment can make all the difference.
That's a nothingburger.

Looks like you have low rise tux pants. Also looks like the jacket is cut pretty snug with a good bit of flare to the quarters. Hence, triangle. No big deal to just wear a cummerbund. That's pretty much its purpose.

Personally, I hate the cummerbund. So in my last black tie rig reboot, I made sure I would not need one. Craig/Bond in Casino Royale was the model.

First, I got reasonable rise pants with single pleat, side adjusters and suspender buttons. So I can wear the pants looser, smoother, higher with braces. Second, made sure the jacket fit comfortable/full around the middle. Result, if I keep the jacket buttoned, then there's no triangle and no cummerbund needed. Smooth and black from top to bottom.
