Being a greeter at Walmart is pretty low stress, but isn't calling it "fantastic" a bit of a stretch?

What can I say? I’m a people person.

I could totally see being a greeter at Walmart in my retirement. Where else would they pay an 80 year old to get his daily dose of schadenfreude?

Would you say you're objectively very successful?

Is there some universally agreed upon objective measure of success?

On average I feel like I'm succeeding at being a good person, the most important thing to me.

Professionally, there are days when I feel very successful (today was a good day). Other days I feel like a fraud. Sometimes I have FOMO when I look at people I know who do things that I think are more important and/or exciting than what I do.

Within the framework of the corporation where I work, I'm the senior-most member of an elite team, I've risen almost as high as an individual contributor can go, and replacing me would be extremely challenging. I have job security and the knowledge that my efforts contribute significantly to the success of the company, in a highly visible and respected business unit, at a rapidly growing and hugely respected company.

What about you?

Oh, sorry. That was a callback to some sf-drama meant to poke fun at myself.
