Tween, think I saw you on Saturday in NYC (around 15th st. and 7th ave.). Was heading somewhere with my wife and some friends otherwise I would've stopped to say hello.
Looks good, as always.
Question: What's your take on the casual pocket square? With that kind of fit - jeans, casual odd jacket with patch pockets - would you consider a simple cotton PS, maybe white, blue, or tan to pick up one of the other colors in the outfit? Or is that too much in the context of this fit?
I guess I'm looking for the "MC does SW&D" or "Old Men United" perspective on this.
That makes perfect sense to me. I think, for me, a PS is kind of a festive thing, to cheer an outfit up a little, if you know what I mean. Also, while I think I'd pretty much always wear a PS when I wear a tie (not very often, these days), I'm of the opinion that a PS can sometimes work as a substitute for a tie in the context of a tie-optional fit.
Hey Parker. You're welcome in my team, if you want. I'm not saying you're an old man, of course! I don't know what a bandana type square is; what do you think of the Simennot-Godard type of cotton PS's for casual squares? I think they could work with casual sport jackets.I'm mixed on the casual pocket square. I'll sometimes go for a rough linen or even a bandana type square with a casual sport jacket. I basically try to avoid overly "dandy" stuff when wearing jeans.
I have a CK collection suit that doesn't even have a breast pocket. I wish more of my jackets were like that.Totally opposite. I rarely wear a pocket square. Even with a tie. One thing the internet hasn't been able to beat into me.
