Nice! Looking forward to seeing it!Incoming next weekend, along with a long post on the other watches that didn’t make the cut.

The random serial number is exactly what is sounds like, random. My GMT BLNR (Batman) has a completely random serial number with only 3 numerals before the letters start then more numbers. It has nothing to do with the model number, and mine was purchased brand new at an AD. If you have any doubts ...then maybe it isn't the right piece. A good deal isn't much of a deal if you don't have peace of mind about what you are buying. The old saying is always buy the seller. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Was it not a conversation between you and I where I learned that one of the possible reasons Rolex randomized these numbers was to "equalize value" across production years or batches, and prevent collectors from placing undue value on, say, watches produced in (insert year or batch here) because (insert reason for why other serial numbers are valued over others)?
And how could you have only 4,000+ posts here? For sure I would've thought you'd be in the 20,000 range?

I have other hobbies where I am equally crazy and expending similar amounts of time (and sometimes money) ...oh not to mention, Mrs. Dino (who is a pretty good enabler) often wants to do things besides look at and talk watches ... so, I lose some time in jewelry stores, clothing stores, hand bag stores etc., but you know what that's like.
must be an awful life. glad you enjoyed salzburg and austria last time. cheers
Hi Fritzl,
Yes, I know...definitely first world problems Thanks, yes Salzburg, Austria and Germany were a great trip. We actually had brunch today with friends who traveled there with us and we were all chatting about what a great trip it was. Hope you are doing well my friend!
Best regards,
Dino
