Hi guys.

My current favorite is this late 60s or early 70s Longines Ultra Chron, with the manufacture hi beat calibre 431 (36.000 A/h). Really cool shape case too, reminds me a little of the Heuer Monaco with the faceted sides

Very cool vintage Longines! Love the case shape and dial! Thanks for sharing photos with us!

My new incoming GS SGBW253

Really lovely - I saw the yellow gold version of this at a local jewellery store a few weeks back and thought how nice it looked.

GS have some great new models and I also like the fact that, now that it's a standalone brand, they have less text and fewer different fonts on the dial.

I am not convinced on the standalone branding I really don't have any issues having Seiko on my watches, some of the older model looks unbalance without the Seiko on the dial.

Oh, I certainly don't mind having "Seiko" on the dial of a watch, but I thought that some of the previous GS models simply looked a bit jumbled and crowded, with lots of text in different fonts on the dial.

Over two years ago, in March of 2015, something happened that we at HODINKEE had always dreamed of but never really expected: we were given access to all four of Rolex's main manufacturing centers.

Even a non-Rolex person is impressed by the scale and QC.

What a fantastic piece. I had no idea how advanced Rolex's technology is. Underground component vaults with advanced robots on rails that can deliver thousands of parts to a technician in 6-8 minutes.... I wonder how far back their genuine parts supply goes. And that part about Rolex being (quietly) one of the largest charitable organizations in Europe. If there were any doubts about the brand's greatness, they have now been dashed.

Speaking of Rolex. I think I'm in love...

Not sure if anyone cares, but Hodinkee are going into print. It will launch around October and it sounds like at least some of the content will not be online. Also, they're doing another limited edition watch that will be about $200 and will be in produced in the "few thousands".

Hell, a lot of their straps are pushing $200, right?

I'm guessing a Seiko collab. Consider me intrigued.
