My brother! (Fred G. Unn = phrygian)I wish I could meet Dorian at my local concert hall...
You could do a VERY cool piece with these embedded in lucite....parts to a whole or something like that. If you are bored with them, let me know. I know a guy who would totally groove on something like this. Zero personal interest in a project, but happy to connect.Wanted to share this bag of assorted watch parts I bought at an estate sale for $7. I plan to put these out as a conversation piece.
Your photos & taste are fantastic. This one especially.
Dark brown, maybe a bit distressed oiled leather or cordovan (but used cordovan, not shiny amazing cordovan). Or something dark brown, textured and thick-ish. I'm thinking about that brown-black patina you used to find on Fosters' shoes. Or something like this: https://www.georgecleverley.com/leather-goods/p/v8i2ht9tyet6hur24nb5tmwbw9za3i
This is a very traditional French jewelry brand that also made watches (not sure they still do). I don’t know much about the actual movements (if there are any), but they used to have their own and also used some from Piaget and other brands. Their watches are more like jewelry imho.Didn't know the brand, but the designs in the piece look really interesting and sophisticated.
