Honestly, the conversation a few days back about dial diameter versus case diameter made me realize that 34mm on a dress watch with an extremely thin bezel and small lugs probably has a dial size similar to a 36mm Datejust or a 40mm Sub. Makes me want to go out and seek a 34mm Calatrava out for consistency in my collection.
This is 33mm. But I sold it last year or so as 9thsymph recalled.

My AD just called. "Your Explorer II just arrived and is waiting for you".

I had put in my name last Summer and hadn't heard anything. @mossrockss had messaged me to say I needed to charm her. I took his advice and sent an email, stopped in to say "hello" , then brought in my wife and cute little dog on another occasion and during the last visit a month ago she said, 'Let me update your file". It paid off.

I had put in my name last Summer and hadn't heard anything. @mossrockss had messaged me to say I needed to charm her. I took his advice and sent an email, stopped in to say "hello" , then brought in my wife and cute little dog on another occasion and during the last visit a month ago she said, 'Let me update your file". It paid off.
Right before I was allocated my GMT I stopped in with my two little kids and let them “window shop”…a month later…boom!

Congrats, man! Awesome watch!

I think one has to weigh the real potential risks, use, and enjoyment. I can see a delicate tie, or carefully crafted shoes, one might consider the the days activities and the weather. A watch or jewelry, isn't affected by weather unless its maybe on a very delicate strap. You can wear a watch or jewelry and if you have sleeves its protected from a lot of potential damage from contact with other objects or door frames. While a Ferrari especially vintage ones can be fun on weekends, use is generally limited by weather, bad roads that need work after winter, or idiots who want to video you while driving (placing you the car, themselves, and others in danger). Vintage cars also tend to be high effort cars to drive (heavy steering at low speeds, limited visibility, tougher to park) so they are a bit of a chore to use during rush hour especially in high traffic areas.
I remember getting a new watch and wearing it every day for a while. I wore shirts with long sleeves, well, whilst stepping aside to let someone through, I left a 0.5cm scar on the watch as it got too close to the wall. Since then, I'm much more hesitant to take the fragile ones out.

Car parks are a whole other problem although older cars are smaller and modern car parks are designed for giant trucks. I miss parking pre-2000 cars. Anything post say 2010 has the turning radius of a walrus, even if it looks like a small hatchback. In a repeat of the watch incident, I ended up flattening my exhaust by parking backwards into a spot that was not as long as I imagined until the pavement, nor was the car as high clearance as I imagined. On the upside, the car now has slightly higher clearance and a cool flat bottomed exhaust.

Great Gus, congrats!

The SA at the biggest Rolex AD in Cinci where I’ve shopped told me he allocated a Batman GMT to a guy bc he sent monthly Batman themed greeting cards (and things like Batman Lego’s etc).
So, it works to simply dote/date your sales associate!
