after bunch googling, think the story is originally the 27.5mm were suppose to be men's watch but no men bought that size so they decide to tweak as women's watch, then much much later they introduced larger size and automatic version (ss in additional the original RG/WG) of it.

But even just within the manual wind 27.5mm white gold you got

one row diamond - looks like this is the one they got, and based on chat with the guy he got 2 identical ones (apparently the jewelry store has been around for a while, but was more jewelry than watch store) both brand new but can't source any other (maybe there were some recent RL store closed?)

edit: absolutely agree it's a great deal and don't think it's fake (who would fake this nobody), though more worry about defective batch leaked out (that also seems unlikely), in any event, would definitely find an opportunity to see it.

Yes, in the early 2000s some watches with more modest sizes started out as men's watches, and when men jumped on the big watch craze, the companies then marketed the pieces as women's watches. VC did this too. Still, a great watch is a great watch, and dress watches don't need to be, and shouldn't be gigantic.

I certainly don't know for sure, but I would imagine the RL watch is just something they didn't have the right customers for and they are trying to unload the last ones. The movements were from respected companies, and IIRC were calibers already in production in other watches. So I doubt these are defective. If it doesn't keep time well, just send it in for service. Wishing you luck with your RL adventure!

I'm with @Omega Male on that one. I've seen them many times. They don't do much for me, but at a 95% discount why not. Hell for that kind of money, they also make nice gifts!

I bet this is real, I bought two off Gemnation in a crazy sale a year or two back, NIB, and had one serviced by RL mansion in NYC this summer. Came with full set, still in plastic, both were under 2k (no diamonds though) despite the $15,400 MSRP and gold cased piaget EDIT: 430P movement.

I LOVE this watch but be sure to look at the dial. The earliest ones had silver dials and the later had lacquer. I bought both, gave the silver dial to my mom as a present. I much prefer the lacquer dial.

If they have the full guilloche version, give me a heads up...

There was also a RG version I desperately wanted but couldnt find below retail.

Went by 2 Rolex ADs around me and both had the two tone daytonas available. I guess that’s pretty common? Don’t see those models on the grey market often and are often at or below msrp in my limited experience.
