I think Mont Blanc had the best showing at SIHH. I truly cannot believe I just typed that, but these are beautiful (beyond overpriced however)

Yeah, those don’t look bad at all.

Credit where it’s due. Remarkable how their attention to detail on that dial work puts to shame much of what some fancier brands have been phoning in, no? ;)

On the other hand, they still make some absolute dogs — like the Timewalker line.

The salmon pulsograph is really nice looking, but they can piss off with that $30,000 price tag.
I looked at the price and probably needed an EMT to use the pulsometer to determine whether a visit to the ER was necessary. You can get a lot of watch for that money.

That's almost the price of what 3940's were trading for (though they seem to have gone up, surprise surprise).

IWC has righted the ship by going with in-house movements and smaller case sizes. I would give the bronze Spitfire chronograph serious consideration if it wasn’t over 15 mm thick. Loved the new Ressence Type 1 Slim as well. I have toyed with the idea of selling my collection and going with a Ressence as my OneWatch. Has anyone seen this brand in the metal?

^ I have not, they are intriguing/unique. They are carried in more stores/states than I would have thought.

Would love to see one someday, I assume they are in NYC somewhere so I'll look for them on the next visit.

Agreed on punching above its weight class. I think total volume is under 8000 watches a year.

Even though Lange made their modern reputation with the Lange 1, I somehow think of the brand DNA to be 1815/Saxonia based, sort of like Nomos’ plutocratic uncle.

Interesting that none of those basic models are treated in this video, but rather the novelty/somewhat fly watches. Sort of like your plutocratic uncle decides to invest in producing rap videos (very tasteful ones). I love the brand, but their product line seems to becoming a bit bifurcated, in a way that dilutes the brand identity in my eyes.

ALS is overrated and quickly becoming PRC's brand of choice for those who want to snub the establishments (Patek, Rolex, etc).

A friend of mine purchased a Zeitwerk last year and he loves it. He is also a big fan jumping hour style watches and watches that tell time in unusual ways. He also owns and Urwerk, and jumping hour watches from Cartier, AP, and Gerald Genta. It may not be for everyone but I think the Zeitwerk is a cool watch.

So the new standard is: "If the Chinese like you, you suck?"

I can see that applying more in foreign policy than horology.
