AD called asking if I was interested in a "highly discounted" blue model titanium Fifty Fathoms that a customer just traded in after owning for a month. Gorgeous watch, but can I handle the branding on the side of the case AND do i really need another BP diver? (Although it would make a nice big brother for the Ti Bathy I already have).

I knew there was a reason I stayed away from watches for so long.

Jamie Ferguson put me onto Serica. He told me about it in a little article I published about him here: https://www.menswearmusings.com/the...ie-ferguson-jkf-man-plus-a-bonus-grail-watch/
Thank you for the article. This is really good:

The watch, and the photo.

I think these DJs are rarely photographed well and the beauty inherent in their simple but very thoughtful design is lost in practice. I'm in camp 1601 personally but this 16014 is making me rethink my loyalties.

I kind of feel like the side branding is one of those things that is definitely dumb in concept, but in practice, it seems like something that would generally be highly ignorable.

I agree.

Knew this was the right place to come to convince me to spend money

Today is trash day for me.

Love the strap color, considering something similar for my Tank. Details?

The Reverso I won at auction 2 weeks ago came with a busted mainspring so I dropped it off at a local JLC AD to get a diagnosis. AD just got back to me saying that they can’t repair this watch and that it needs to go back to the Richemont repair center in Texas with an approximate 8 week turnaround time.
On the other hand, the auction house has also offered to cover half of the repair cost if the watch is repaired at LAWW, with a 4-8 week turnaround time (pushing for the former). Is there anything I should be aware of or is LAWW obviously the better choice here?
Just saw a thread on r/rolex or r/watches the other day trashing Rolliworks as shady/scammy. Lots of commenters piled on, and when someone suggested the guy send his watch to LAWW instead, many commenters said they've had similarly questionable dealings with LAWW. I'm sure you can find it pretty easily if you're interested...thread had something to do with a guy sending an heirloom Rolex to Rolliworks and them screwing the whole thing up.

OEM Cartier strap.

Go to the boutique and let them know you want to buy a strap and they'll pull out a leather swatch book with different colors. If it's not in stock then it'll need to be made which will normally take like 6-8 weeks.

I think they are backlogged if you need to order a strap. I ordered one a few months ago and I'm still waiting.

So today, I'm going with something on a bracelet.

Got this in the press release today, the Panerai Luminor BiTempo New York Edition - PAM01467

The New York Luminor BiTempo New York Edition - PAM01467. I don't know the size. Not half bad, but I like the design paired with what is probably a pretty chunky watch. I remember when everyone was making these larger and larger. Maybe we can dub it the East River Diver.
