You definitely need this one! It is completely different watch. But then I don't know what you will do with the steel version because you will never wear it again.
I already got a picture of him with the steel version.

The Reverso I won at auction 2 weeks ago came with a busted mainspring so I dropped it off at a local JLC AD to get a diagnosis. AD just got back to me saying that they can’t repair this watch and that it needs to go back to the Richemont repair center in Texas with an approximate 8 week turnaround time.
On the other hand, the auction house has also offered to cover half of the repair cost if the watch is repaired at LAWW, with a 4-8 week turnaround time (pushing for the former). Is there anything I should be aware of or is LAWW obviously the better choice here?

I say bring back the 1970s tank Jumbo or at least size the numerals as per the Jumbo.

I had a phone call from my friend @Lupin 3 today, who was going to the SERICA boutique.
https://www.serica-watches.com/

I went with him. TBH I had never heard of it before today. It is a small watch brand. The watches are designed in France but made in Switzerland, with all the detailing and quality of luxury watches (except that the price is around €1500). We met the founder and designer, Jérôme Burgert, a very nice guy with whom we chatted for more than a hour. To sum up he started his business in 2018, with the idea to make tool watches, and inspired by the « dirty dozen ». He started with one model, and proposes 3 today : a field watch, a diver, and a GMT.
He had 400 watches made per year in 2018, 5000 today. Apparently he already has customers all over the world. A very interesting guy, really passionate about what he is doing…

@Lupin 3 and Jérôme Burgert. Both wearing a SERICA. (Lupin was just trying one)

GMT and Diver (the field watch is the first on the left of the second picture)

The bracelets are all very interesting.
Last designed is the rubber one that exactly looks like leather.

Jamie Ferguson put me onto Serica. He told me about it in a little article I published about him here: https://www.menswearmusings.com/the...ie-ferguson-jkf-man-plus-a-bonus-grail-watch/

That looks so good! What is the size of the dial? Looks quite large in the photo.
Thanks you! This Tank Louis Cartier XL is reference W1551451, and the case is approximately 30 x 39 mm, and 6.1 mm thick. It was part of their Collection Privee Cartier Paris line that was retired in 2008.

There was a later, even larger Tank XL, but the proportions were weird. It was an ultra thin that was thinner than the model I own, had a closed case back and no guilloche on the dial.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
