More interesting episode this week. Still a bunch of WTF moments. First among them - if you're living in a prison with a bunch of people in close proximity who turn soon after they die....why are you sleeping with sheets in the doorway instead of locking your cell?

I like that Michonne actually speaks this season. For some reason, I was sadder to see the pigs go to the walkers than I have been with most of the people who have died lately. Wonder if we'll see Rick get sick after taking a bunch of pig blood to the face.

Biggest WTF moment for last night's episode was when they were using the piglets to draw away the walkers.

Why not just drive around and use themselves as bait to get the walkers to chase them around. Seems like all they needed was a couple minutes to prop the fence back up.

My thought was that maybe they had decided to get rid of them anyway due to concerns that the "flu" had come from the pigs, and Rick decided to get some use out of them. But that might be a stretch.

Why don't they set the walkers on fire?

Because that would be a dumb idea. You have 50 something walkers coming at you, why would you light them on fire? Walkers don't feel pain, being on fire isn't going to instantly destroy them, so now not only would you have the walkers still coming after you, they're on fire. Flaming zombies. That's like next level zombie ****. Besides, the walkers would then spread that fire to the grass their standing in, and then you would have to worry about putting out this fire. It would just be making a bad situation worse.

OK, so I sort of get it if someone wants to kill the next town over, but why would someone do the thing with the rats at the place where they also live?

I figured that too, but I don't think that precludes using Edina's plan.

I thought that too, but came to the same conclusion as Dr.Huh. To effectively set them on fire en masse, you'd probably need to douse them with something flammable. After that, who knows how far they stagger before they "die", or how far the fire might spread?

Fire would be effective if you had a mass of zombies trapped somewhere. You could easily burn them at least until the muscle is gone, at which point, even if they were still "alive", they couldn't move. But yeah, I wouldn't want to do it if there were going to be flaming zombies running at me.

I can't believe they dont 1) get some serious leather or super thick canvas clothes, and then 2) train, heavily, in hand to hand combat. So many situations would be easily resolved with hand-to-hand combat. Especially given that ammunition is going to become very scarce. Even with that scene in the supermarket last week--most of the time, they werent being swarmed. Staying calm and dispatching them one at a time would have been much preferable to running around like crazy people firing at everything that moved.

I suppose you could douse some of them with gasoline, but that might be a waste of gas. Still, you have to draw them away from the fence. Even if they are on flames, they're still going to walk towards that fence. I read a suggestion that asked why they don't just dig a pit surrounding the prison, but to actually have it be deep enough would probably require too much man power.

SkinnyGoomba - excited to see how this unfolds but I have a few theories.

1. The guy who got trapped under the alcohol - they mentioned he was in the military which could foreshadow some sort of PTSD or medical issue (hence his draw toward alcohol)
2. This one may be way off but the two little girls whose dad died - the little sister described the older one as "having issues" and she was the one who named them like pets

One thing that makes this show awesome is you can predict a lot from the little things...

Would be really interesting if it ended up being Carol who burned the bodies. She seems much different in S4 than the Carol we're used to.
