Following up on the recent Valstar/Valstarino discussion...

Has anyone had to take a *bigger* size in the Clint than the Valstarino? I ordered this jacket during the archive sale. It's labeled as the "Cowboy" jacket here, but as far as I can tell it's identical to the Clint, all the way down to the corduroy lining.

I'm normally a medium in everything, but I follow the size up 1 advice and take a 50 in the Valstarino. I expected a size 50 Cowboy/Clint to be a little loose on me if anything, but was shocked to find that it was even slimmer-fitting than the Valstarino. Whereas a 50 Valstarino is by no means too small on me, the size 50 Clint didn't pass any sort of shoulder test, and was visibly too slim when zipped up. FWIW I'm 6'1, 165ish, with maybe a 39 inch chest.

Anyone have similar experiences? Was this a one-off thing? Also...maybe WTB size 52 Clint?

I took the same size Clint in this archive sale as my Valstarino (54 in both) and I have a 41" chest, for a "comfortable but not fitted" fit. If I were 6'1" and 39" true chest, I would have gotten a 52 in either for the kind of fit I like.

Yea I think the Clint was an exclusive that Valstar eventually made into mass production.
Also yes that they decided to call it the cowboy which is not the same as the NMWA cowboy (which I also have)

I agree the Valstar version Cowboy is kind of a NMWA Clint knock-off, very different than NMWA's Cowboy. I think Valstar calls NMWA's Cowboy, the Zip Jacket.

For reference, I wear a 54 in Valsterino. I pre-ordered the 54 Cowboy from NMWA for FW23. It was way too big. I got super lucky that a 52 came back in stock a few months later and @gdl203 went well above and beyond and I was able to switch it out for the smaller size.

I have some NMWA and adjacent items that I'd like to sell. Asking prices include US shipping. I'm also happy to ship elsewhere for more, as well as to provide additional pics, measurements, etc.

Sage de Cret textured dark navy poly suit, size med. $225.
The jacket is in good used condition. The easy pants are almost as new—I think I wore them once or twice.

Blue Blue Japan straight selvedge jeans, size 2. $150
Excellent condition, worn a handful of times

Fujito chambray wide slacks, size 32. NWT. $150

Portuguese Flannel blue-gray herringbone flannel shirt, size med. $50

Worn a handful of times. Excellent condition.

La Botte Giardiane black Chelsea boots, size 42. $200.
Worn once or twice. I'm usually a US 9.5 and these fit me well.

LEJ overshirt in a beautiful check
Unclear why I’m getting rid of this but it never connected with me.

Beautiful build quality, the buttons alone are the best on any RTW shirt I’ve seen
Size M
LNWOT

$200 shipped conus

23.5” chest
30” length
24” sleeves (this seems short but it fits me fine w/normalish arms)

No Man Liquidates Alone!

Unfortunately need to raise some funds for other projects and looking for a good home for these jawnz. I’ve done several deals on here, but haven’t always completed the feedback thing. All prices are OBO with shipping in the US. PayPal only.

Valstar Clint, Brown 52 — $750
Monitaly Patchwork Coverall, 44 — $175
Christian Kimber Cashmere Cable Knit Sweater, XL — $125
Chamula Merino Fisherman Sweater, XL — $125
Glenn’s Slouchy Tapered, One Wash Total Black 36 — $100
Wythe Chainstitch Work Shirt, XL — $80
Naissance Grizzly, Black XL — $1,250 (Preemptive apologies about the price, but more of an interest check as this is my fav NMWA piece ever, and I wouldn’t be upset if I could use the other stuff to raise funds!)

Bumping this with updates. Ts(s) sold. I also have a handful of Our Legacy pieces that are as NMWA-adjacent as Our Legacy can get (a velvet pique shirt in a 46, Panama wool trousers in a 48, and a rust bucket hat, but I won't post pics to maintain integrity of the thread - please DM me if interested).

Few things for sale via PayPal F&F or add fees. Can ship in the US or meet in NYC.

1) Catch & release on this LNWOT Ikiji Charcoal Polo. Wish I could keep it but it is just too small for me. Fabric is silk (65%), mohair (24%), and nylon (11%). Size is not tagged but this would fit a US M well, and even a US S. I bought it for $200 and just looking to recoup my payment, so $200 + shipping F&F.

2) LNWOT Ts(s) Waffle Cardigan (Size 3). Worn twice. $100 + shipping. SOLD.

3) BNWT Doppiaa Aabba Corduroy Overshirt in Burgundy (M) $110 + shipping. This is more of an interest check as I might keep.

4) BNWT Schneider Wool/Cashmere pants (Size 31). These have a stripe on the side. 90% wool; 10% cashmere. $85 + shipping.

5) BNWT Hatski Jeans. Regular Taper in One Wash (Size 2). Absolutely beautiful pants but just too small for me and I bought these final sale. $185 + shipping.
