Any washing advice on the fleece? I am thinking machine wash, and then either a quick wash 30 or even 15 minutes (speed setting) or the wool/handwash setting. What do you guys pick?

Probably the opposite of what others here would say, but I'd return the raglan and keep the pinstripe. The raglan looks like nothing special, and the pinstripe has flair. And I own a lot of Drake's.

Thanks! This was helpful advice. I was already a bit on the fence regarding the raglan. Last week I was in the London shop and my eye fell on the mid grey herringbone. So, I took that one instead. It has a heftier texture and feels more ‘classic’, and worthy of the price. Plus they can make small adjustments if you buy in the shop so they are currently shortening the sleeves.

Meaning that I have just sent back the size 40 donegal navy raglan. It will be in stock again later this week I suspect, if anyone is interested.

It’s not that I don’t like the Drake’s navy, I do, but I’d rather opt for a thicker version which I can also wear for work over suits and such and in wintertime.

Good to hear you found a comprehensive alternative. Upon coming back home from Florence today I just put my Raglan on and I love it.

I (impulse) bought a navy cotton canvas Games blazer (I think mk. II? Not entirely sure) at one of the archive sales in London last year, but have only worn it once as the fit is a little off -- namely, the armholes seem too low so it bunches heavily around the shoulder when I raise my arm. Has anyone else encountered this problem with the Games blazers or is it more to do with my physique? I think the cotton canvas material being a little stiffer is maybe exacerbating the issue too. In all other respects (and with my arms down) it fits and looks good, but it's annoying enough that I think i'm probably going to sell it.

I had with my Mark III DB corduroy blazer (among other fit matters), and think this is part of the aesthetic (or whatever the term is) for the Games blazers. They're definitely not meant to be tailored clothing, and functionally kinda fit more in between light outerwear and upscale cardigans.

You can either embrace that and go with it, or sell it, or do what I did - massive tailoring surgery to your piece. For me, I tried the first option for a season, but after had my tailor take in the sides, cut a back vent, and change the DB configuration from 6x2 to 6x1 (I like to wear my jackets closed), and now I'm in love with it and it gets lots of wear during the colder months. And wearing it more breaks in the stiffer cotton more, so it's more flowy now.

You're welcome. I didn't get the armholes (I think they are called armscyes?) adjusted on my Games blazer, just a bunch of other things! I would imagine that an experienced alterations tailor could adjust it.

Someone with more technical knowledge might contradict me, but I've always believed that the armscyes of a jacket cannot be modified or raised. Unlike many other variables, they're an integral part of the jacket's fundamental structure. Sleeves can be tapered (which seems weird), but I don't think much can be done to modify the actual diameter of the armscyes. But like Easily Amused mentions, it might be that another alteration would help mitigate the effect you're experiencing.
