Might be a mandatory from Uniqlo since it's their signature product, together with the Ultra Light Down. If anything, it's quite waterproof. But I always notice the difference of Blocktech for mens and womens items, most of the time, men's coats have the plasticky coating, while the women's coats have coated fabric (where you can still feel the fabric with taped seams.

Cafedandy have you seen these pants in the preview?

It says U JERSEY WIDE-FIT STRAIGHT PANTS . Sounds interesting and it seems like Lemaire hasn't done this before?

I haven't seen these pants in the preview rack, but it should be about the same material as the Women U Curved Jersey Pants.

Watched Beoning this week and glad to see there's a similar color shirt in the UU collection. Thought the fit was fire.

Oh man looks like the best collection since SS2016? Already bought a pair of the pleated pants.

The lookbook makes me wish I bought a size larger for all of my crewneck tees though...

I was thinking that too. I went true to size on my crewneck tees in the past, but the boxy pocket ts are my favorite now, so thinking of just sizing up 1 on the crewnecks and hemming the length.

Bummer the sherpa trucker is black, not a chocolate brown I was hoping it was.

What a huge bummer. :brick: Oh well.

Uniqlo U

Tried it on at store today. Amazing quality. So soft I thought it would be coarse like the short sleeve U t-shirts.

The fit is very blousey. Longlish sleeves just like the model in the picture.

Sadly only the Maroon color stands out.

Some of them were just polyester with a DWR coating IIRC so it might be that the coating has worn off. There are aftermarket products available that can rejuvenate it somewhat.

Speaking of blocktech parka...at 34th St NYC they were on sale for $29.90. They are last years model. Unfortunately I found the colors so damn ugly that it still did not warrant the $29.90.

These things are so thin...hard to believe they sell for $79.90

The thicker ones I understand the price, but the thin ones... just wait for the price cuts.

Quality varies on these blocktech parkas, I still have a mainline one and the cotton parka from the Uniqlo and Lemaire collab (although it was not marketed as blocktech but it definitely is with the inner coatings and taped seams) that I use often and it's still in good shape since 2016, even if the tag said that the coating may deteriorate.

Which are the thicker ones? :puzzled:

These are the ones I saw today on sale:

They had the green color and a blue color. It seems for 2019 they hiked the price 10 bucks higher (now $79.90), but the material is still super thin. Thin like those grocery tote bags to carry food.

They used to have the thick ones in the past years... but they went thinner now.

I did some snooping on the Japanese website cause the descriptions for the UU line are already up.
Apparently this coat:

-Scottish traditional calvary twill is used for the outer material, with a solid texture and excellent durability.
-With Block Tech function and lining seam tape, it is windproof, waterproof, but breathable.
-The A-line silhouette that flows slowly from the raglan sleeve keeps it easy to move by venting the back.

I don't think UU outerwear reached beyond 150 before. I am so looking forward to see this in person if it's worth the price.
