I actually got a note from Mr. Kuti last night, so he's definitely around (and has been very kind with my questions and back-and-forths). I owe him a response to his message and I'm hoping this thread can help. I'm a C&J 348 8.5UK - Reszo suggested 43 on the U as being close but I'm wondering if 42.5 is safer for narrow-ish feet. Anyone with similar experience?

I've only had the chance to try a P2 in size 43, and an F in size 43.5. To get some outside perspective on this, how similar would you gents say the P2 and F lasts are?

I generally take the same size in both (43 as well), but the F toe box has more tapper to it and looks dressier. I can see going up a half for F if the P2 is somewhat tight.

Well the thing is it was a really confusing experience. I have the feet of a duck, my toes are extremely wide, yet my heel is slim. The P2 on half a size smaller felt better around the toe, and both felt too loose in the heel. The issue is the P2 was a soft wholecut whilst the F was a sturdy adelaide. I have no idea as to what to do...

If a little more casual is ok, maybe look for one with a goyser welt. My 43 P2 with goyser has more room/width in the toe box than the 43 without it.

I'll confuse you further - I take a half size down in P2 compared with F.

Of course you do. :D Might I ask how your feet are shaped?

I'm looking more for something all-purpose, so both formal and casual shoes to use the last.

Wide-ish forefoot, tall-ish instep, standard heel, slender toes.

I take the same size in F and U where others need a half size up in the latter due to the narrower toe box.

The P2 is easily the most generous-fitting Vass last that I have personally tried.

Thank you. I'm considering simply going for a 43 P2 with some slimming of the heel and instep. I hope it will be enough over the toes.

Hi guys,

I have been following this thread for a while and getting addicted to Vass more and more. I came across this pair on Ebay, would this be a good starting point ?
The seller seems to have 20% off for these at the moment.

Thank @RogerP my current rotation allows me to wear each pair every two weeks. Eventhough, I have to admit that my G&G Cherry St James have more favorable treatments, and get used more often.

I can see this pair offers strong competition for the St James as a Friday wear.

Can someone help me to identify the last of this pair? It does not seem to be mentioned in the listing.
