Here’s Vass’ descriptions. View attachment 1504158
What?? I'm now convinced these guys don't know what they are talking about. Anyone who sends in inquiries and asks about lasts, fit etc, watch out. Believe NOTHING of what they tell you (like that guy before who said that Vass confirmed for him that a shoe in a random pic from the side was K last, lol). They told me that K I need to go up half a size from U. This picture says that K is wider, with higher instep and more room for toes, even compared to the F last!

Go figure.

Alright boys, against my greater judgement I purchased two pairs because each pair is cheaper than most places with one pair of shoes and with free shipping the deal is insane. I'm a 10D and I got the folliwng in 43;

Bond Oxford:

Brown Museum Calf, brown suede FB last

Wholecut 3 eyelet:

Black Calf 3 eyelet wholecut with black scotchgrain S* Last

I have a feeling one will fit and went against the budapester as they seem rather common of a shoe from the manufactuer. I went with stuff with one left that seemed uncommon.

I actually have a brand new size 9.5 USEdward green I need to sell now if the Bond Oxford fits. It's a half a size too small and would cover both shoes.

Here's hoping they fit. I'm a normal 10D/9.5D in most things and from what I read most people are 43 if they're 10D irregardless of the last.

Good luck! I know Jmr928 posted that Vass said on Instagram that they would accept returns on sale items. Kinda wish Vass took PayPal so I could take advantage of the return shipping reimbursement (max $30).

I'd probably just sell them, both were made of non regular lasts so I'm hoping they fit. The FB may end up too roomy.

Ultimately at the price for both I doubt I'll lose money selling them

Where would you sell them? eBay? Facebook? Styleforum? Are you confident either pair will sell quickly and you will recoup the price paid after selling fees (if any)?

I have never really looked for Vass on eBay/Styleforum so I have no idea how hard it would be to sell. At least you got a common size!

Usually, Vass is in demand on eBay and SF from what I can see. But a sof lately, I guess with the sales going on and covid-19, they aren't moving fast. I've had a pair up for sale for some time now withouth much success.

I've been selling alot of my Red Wings lately and have had buyers due to production delays. I'm hoping to clear space.

What size are they? I don't see many 43 on ebay so I may have an easier time.

Hopefully you will, mate. Mine are 41. Haven't tried eBay, though. Only SF.

I grabbed pairs that looked sleek but also different/unique but broad.

I wish I saved the photos. I think a generic captoe would take more time selling due to compeition.

Luckily - all I was interested in is now gone.
I treated this as a test of being able to help myself - as I've bought 7-8 pairs of shoes since the start of the pandemic (4 Vass).
I managed to be successful in this endeavor ?

That doesn't mean I don't want more Vass. I certainly do. In fact, I only want Vass. But I also don't want to buy stuff just for the sake of buying it.

My $.02

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
