How does the P last compare to the F in sizing? I sold some 43.5 monks on the F as too small -- and am looking at a pair of 45s in the P (which I fear may be too big).

Got black monks in 43.5 and they were too tight. I had them stretched a little and they are now okay, but probably should have gotten them in 44. I wear 43.5 in P2, 44 in P (with the exception of slippers, where I go back to 43.5), and 43.5 in 3636. I have wider feet, mildly flat, average instep. Hope this helps.

Gentlemen - these two beauties are in. F last. Walnut and dark brown museum calf.

I give up on trying to find a cobbler to install metal toe taps on my previous 2 pairs.
Talked to a few already - no dice.

Last one even lectured me for thinking that the shoes were handwelted - as they are in fact "goodyear" welted.

I smiled and walked away. ?

I'm amazed that you're not able to find a cobbler who's able to accommodate this simple request. Do you reside in a far distant amish village?

There are definitely some forum members here who have done the task themselves. Not sure how comfortable you feel trying it, but maybe take a beater pair to test first?

That's almost as good as the time that I inquired about getting some shoes resoled and asked if they could do it with a closed channel. The cobbler kindly informed me that my shoes had a glued outsole since there was no channel but yes they could certainly re-glue on a new sole for me. I did not leave my shoes with them.

HAHA.

Yes - I was told "no one" handwelts shoes anymore.

Ok chief...
