However, I will start off more slowly this time. Is my experience unusual?

My shoemaker says only 2-3 hours per day for the first 7-10 days while breaking them in and no long walks until they have softened up.

Yes, Ugolini said something similar. Naturally, I ignored that on the first pair as my experience with RTW shoes was that they were usually comfortable from the get go. Lesson learned!

This pair is coming along as I am wearing them at my desk now and so have had them on for most of a day at the office, albeit, with only the occasional walk down the hall.....

I guess I am just new to the "break in" process and have not had a properly fitting pair of shoes before. Amazing that I can go through nearly five decades of life before discovering I have been doing something so basic (buying shoes) rather poorly.

Heh. Whatever the outcome, it's an allegory--the tension between dumbed down, know-nothing willful ignorance and smugly self-absorbed, deliberate, Machiavellian deception.

And those who would embrace either.

Hello All,

In case anyone is interested in trying out Foster & Son bespoke, they will be traveling through the US and having trunk shows in various cities come April. Some pics and info shown below.
They also have a Tokyo trunk show planned for those that will be out there visiting or live there.

Cheers!

Did they ever put the Fred Astaire shoe into production?

I don`t want to sell anything or advertise brands, but I would like to share with you some of my works, these are some Chukkas handmade. I'm not Lobb, nor Lazlo Vass but I make all the work.
If you want to see how to made this Chukkas, I recorded all the videos step by step and I can upload here. I hope you like it.

@Manuel nice of you to share but this is an affiliate thread for gentlemensfootwear.com. I'd recommend starting a new thread or posting in the shoemaker thread.
