Thanks for the advice. The trousers are flat fronted and fit well around the seat and hips.

The existing waistband isn’t long enough to be let out as much as I need, so I guess I will need to add some cloth at the centre back. There is actually 5 or 6 inches of spare cloth under the trouser hem (I need to get them shortened by 3 inches). Does that mean the grain could match from there? I am not sure I know what the grain is, but I am guessing that I need to take a wedge out vertically elsewhere on the suit (rather than horizontally as would be the case if there was only a couple of inches under the hem). Is that right?

Is this for 1 suit, or multiple?

If just 1, donate the suit. Let someone get some use out of it.

Not easy to add to the waistband because the waistband has structure. Usually banrol, stiffener and the curtain. You need to create some structure in the waistband so it holds up to the stress.

Really not an optimal solution.

Is this a new garment, never worn?

It’s a virtually unworn and very recent Corneliani suit. I am not an easy fit in other dimensions and this one is unusually good, so I am keen to explore all options.

I didn’t know if it was possible to add some new material (waistband, elastic even) where the split at the back is stitched together. I don’t mind it looking a bit messy as the area will be mostly covered.

Let the waist out maximum amount available and try them on.

See if it's comfortable enough to get by before trying anything else.

Keep it simple

So the main issue I’m having with my jacket is extreme tightness in the lat/shoulder blades when I extend my arms forward or move them in a forward motion(driving car, sitting at desk, eating, reaching forward). It feels as if I extend too far seams will tear. Is the solution letting out the back or lat/blade area?

Could i get some advice on how to improve this jacket`s fit? I plan on sending this to the tailor who actually made it.
Sleeves are a bit long and i think the shoulder issues are caused by an armhole that is a little too high, creating biceps tightness, especially when i move my arms forward or flex them.

It`s from Lopez Aragon, i am planning to have them make another jacket and would also enjoy advice on what to change when commissioning the next one.

Jacket is not perfect, i do know that, but i enjoy wearing it nevertheless. The only major issue is the tightness around the shoulders and arms. Considering the tailor never met me, i think they did quite a decent job.

I can provide more pictures if you like and if that helps :)

@BB_Adept , in the pictures is a much more serious issue to see - the jacket collar does not fit properly around the nape of the neck, there is a pretty big gap between the shirt collar and the jacket collar. Not sure if it's a front to back balance problem or if it's the pattern to be changed, but you should definitely highlight this issue with your next order.

I noticed that as well when i looked at the pictures. I never saw this when wearing it though. Don't know if I just posed weirdly , it does not show when looking from the side.

It could simply be my shirt collar being rolled up weirdly.

Has this been altered?
The sport coat was made by LA and I sent it back to him right after receiving it because the armholes were too high and the sleeves were even longer. That was about 10 months ago. So to answer your question yes it has.
I do not know if I have pictures of the original product from last year. Since then, no more alterations have been made. All those pictures above were made within the last 30 hours ;).

How difficult is it to adjust for a sloping shoulder on a RTW jacket? Is it "simply" a matter of adding a pad beneath the lining, or would this cause a cascade of other issues as well?

After the suggestion that my right shoulder is lower than the left, I tried adding a little extra padding to the right shoulder of the jacket. It appears to clean it up. Is this a good solution?

Did you have a tailor do this?

I did it myself. There is a seam in the lining at the shoulder that you can open up and insert some kind of padding. I used a washcloth folded in two for the padding

You can also just put a washcloth or something similar on your shoulder under your jacket to see if it helps before modifying the jacket.

If you try this, please post some before and after pictures.
